Brenda von Schweickhardt Exline hosted a private reception to introduce the newest addition to the art world, the Brussels based Accessible Art Fair and U.S partner, Maria van Vlodrop of MVVO ART on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015.

Guests enjoyed light bites courtesy of Le Pain Quotiden, Exki NYC and Neuhaus Belgium Chocolates and beverages by Cliffton Dry, Hottie Tottie and Duvel. Additional sponsors included Belcham, Third Man Collective Perfume and Colognes and Fairweather Magazine.

Notable attendees included: Brenda von Schweickhardt Exline, Stephanie Manasseh, Maria van Vlodrop, Mort Zuckerman, Louisa Shadforth, Nadine Heidinger, Phillip Spradley, Robert Yahner,Ann Lydecker, Marcel Ceuppens,Jean Christophe Legreves, Morris and Pamela Franco, Rangu Salgame, Shelagh Darcy-Hinds, Mariam Azar, Kevin Doyle and Megan Odabash.

The Brussels- based Accessible Art Fair is set to launch in New York November 1 to November 26, 2016 by Maria van Vlodrop, President of MVVO ART.   The Accessible Art Fair concept is simple: make artists accessible to the public and make the public accessible to the artists. It offers artists a beautiful space to exhibit and sell their work to an art buying public. In Brussels, the Accessible Art Fair has become a focal point of discovery of new talent and a chance for artists to launch their career.

Founded by Brussels-based Stephanie Manasseh in 2007, the fair has managed to break with traditional art boundaries to create fresh opportunities for new, emerging talent. The Accessible Art Fair was born from Stephanie’s passion for art but also after realizing that there is so much artistic talent without gallery representation. ‘I decided to give these artists the opportunity to sell their work directly to the public, without having to wait around to be discovered.’

She continued, “OurNew York launch feels like a natural evolution. There is a wealth of talent here that simply needs an opportunity to exhibit work.”

Stephanie has curated for luxury brands such as Montblanc for which she launched the Montblanc Likes Art Award at the Accessible Art Fair in 2012 and BMW Belgium, where she has helped launch the Art and Design Sessions – showcasing young talent and world-famous names such as Marc Lagrange, Xavier Lust and legendary Terry O’Neill. Jeff Koons joins the design sessions in July 2016.

Commented Maria van Vlodrop, “I am proud to partner with Stephanie and bring this new art fair to New York City and support emerging artists at such an intimate venue such as the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park.”

In addition, guests were treated to Pizza Margarita freshly baked in the restaurant’s brick oven.

Guests gathered to enjoy the food at Il Valentino Osteria, while participating in a Mamarazzi®town hall Q&A with The MOMS Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein and guest of honor, Entertainment Tonight Host Nancy O’Dell.

O’Dell was there to launch her eponymous fashion collection, which will debut this Friday, September 11th, 2015 and Saturday September 12th, 2015 onEVINE Live, which you can find on cable TV and online at www.evine.com.  O’Dell, who was wearing one of the signature jumpsuits from her new line, said that she drew her design inspiration from wanting something sophisticated, but with a youthful edge and listed Alexander McQueen and Alexander Wang as design inspirations. In the future, she plans on expanding her line beyond womenswear, and she said that her daughter wants her to design a children’s line. “She’s actually already given me drawings of things to make for her,” she said.

Nancy also discussed balancing life with her work as Host of Entertainment Tonight. She said that despite the ever-changing nature of the news business, she occasionally needs to be available at a moment’s notice. “As host of Entertainment Tonight, I’ve learned that when they need you they can find you,” she said mentioning all the various ways they can reach her if need be. With that said, she said that she makes sure that she is at the special moments and events in her family’s life.

Along with trying to be there for her family for all special occasions, she said she’s the homework helper at home. “I normally do the homework with my daughter,” she said, “Right now my husband is doing it since I’m out of town and he couldn’t believe how early kids learn things these days. He said he was having to explain supply and demand to our little 8 year old!”

As for what she has yet to personally accomplish, she said she wants to bring more awareness to ALS, a disease her mother was afflicted with. For this, campaigns such as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge are close to her heart as O’Dell is also the spokesperson for ALS.net. Once O’Dell mentioned the challenge, Denise Albert challenged the entire room to partake in it and make donations to als.net, following which Il Valentino Osteria supplied ice buckets to make sure that everyone could participate and spread awareness of this cause.

Prostate Cancer Foundation Hosted An Evening of Dining, Dancing and Other Surprises in Support of the 11th Annual Charles PCF Pro-AM Tennis Tournament

Style: "rolston-cole-color"

Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), a nonprofit organization which remains steadfast in its commitment to identify and fund groundbreaking cancer research programs to save the lives of millions, hosted its annual gala at the Parrish Art Museum in Watermill, NY on Saturday, August 29, 2015. The weekend’s events raised over $4 million, which is a record for this event.

The gala was hosted in support of the 11th Annual Charles Evans PCF Pro-Am Tennis Tournament being held from August 28 – 30, 2015, named after the successful entrepreneur who constantly turned tragic events throughout his life into philanthropic causes. The gala evening, catered by Robbins Wolfe, was a celebration featuring cocktails, dining and special performances from Natalie Cole and David Foster with special guests including American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard. 100 percent of the funds raised throughout the evening went to supporting groundbreaking discoveries in cancer research.

The night began with a short quiz by the Founder of the Prostate Cancer Foundation Michael Milken, who asked questions about magic to the crowd of gala guests such as what caused Famous Illusionist Harry Houdini’s Death, Peritonitis, and what was the first book of magic called, The Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584). Fellow performer David Foster then introduced the first performer Natalie Cole, with whom he had just wrapped up an Asian tour.

Once she got onto stage, she began her set by telling the audience, “This is going to be one of the shortest sets I ever did, so listen carefully.” She began her set with her song “Almost Like Being In Love” and did a couple of covers including Renee Olstead’s “What A Difference a Day Makes.” Then she performed “Unforgettable,” her Grammy award-winning duet with her father Legendary Singer Nat King Cole, which was also the first song she had produced by fellow performer David Foster, which was received with loud applause. As she performed, video of her father singing along to the song played on TVs behind her and were interspersed with images of her and Nat while growing up. She closed her set with her father’s famous track “L.O.V.E.”

Following Cole’s set, Milken discussed the young investigators program and the funding the Prostate Cancer Foundation is doing on their behalf. As he defines them, these young investigators are young scientists in their 30s who have received all of the advanced degrees and research experience to run their own labs, however they lack the funding. It is these investigators, he said, that are leading to groundbreaking advancements in cancer research. Currently, PCF works with 153 of these young investigators who are currently researching 22 candidate molecules for cancer research, and these investigators have impacted the creation of six different FDA- Approved Prostate Cancer drugs. Following the presentation and quiz questions discussing these young investigators, Milken asked gala attendees to pledge $75,000 over the course of three years, then $75,000 for one year and then $25,000 for one year. At the conclusion of the fundraising portion, he said, “next year we will tell you how each of our young investigators changed the world.”

After a video introduction, David Foster began his set, during which he invited many of his friends to the stage to perform as he accompanied on the piano, first being Emily West, a runner-up on Reality TV competition show America’s Got Talent. She performed a couple of songs including “Nights In White Satin,” a song she performed while competing on the show. David Foster & Emily West performed The Prayer, a song David Foster wrote for Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, and halfway through the song, David Foster cut her off and said that this is meant to be a duet and introduced Forte, another top competitor on America’s Got Talent. Forte participated in a contest to see who could hold the longest note with Foster and Nathan Gunn, a baritone opera singer in the crowd that evening. At the conclusion of Forte’s set, Foster brought Shelea Frazier to the stage, who performed two songs from The Bodyguard including a cover of Whitney Houston’s rendition of “I Will Always Love You.” Halfway through the performance of I Will Always Love You, American Idol winner Ruben Studdard joined them on stage. David Foster said “Ruben Studdard has a talent, he can write a song on the spot. So let’s write one for tonight’s event.” The crowd names the song, ”A Cure Is On the Way” and Studdard improvised the words as he sang. The show ended with a group rendition of Hey Jude, then Michael Milken thanked David Foster and asked everyone to go to the other stage. At the other stage, guests danced the night away to Super Diamond, a Neil Diamond cover band.

Notable attendees included: Michael & Lori Milken (Founder), Natalie Cole (Performer), David Foster (Performer), Jim Coleman & Cynthia Ott (Host), Bob & Deanna Adler (Host), Seth & Marie Bernstein (Host), Jeff & Mei Sze Greene (Host), Mitchell Modell (Host),  Glenn & Jennifer Myles (Host), Bonnie Pfeifer Evans (Host; Chair, Charles Evans Foundation), Stewart Rahr (Host), Artie & Selma Rabin (Host), Dean Palin (Host), Dr. Joel Pashcow (Host), Leon & Leeza Wagner (Host), John Paulson, Joe Torre, Marla Maples, Jason Binn, Frank Luntz, Richard Kind, Former New York Governor David Patterson, Dr. Jonathan Simons (CEO, Prostate Cancer Foundation), Larry Leeds, Jerry Cohen, Brian Reynolds, Chris Oberbeck, Don Marron, Mark Philippoussis (Pro), Robert Kendrick (Pro),  Danny Govberg, Barry Sternlicht, Arik Kislin, Elaine Wynn, Neal Sroka, Jackie Rogers.

Jackie Rogers Brings a Taste of Haute Couture to the Hamptons

Jackie Rogers

Jackie Rogers, the well-known fashion designer who over the years has stayed relevant with her chic, innovative designs, is bringing her bold style to the Hamptons for the first time this summer 2015. Located on the ultra-exclusive Jobs Lane, Jackie Rogers is able to offer styling to her a-list clientele while they are visiting their vacation homes in the South Fork.

Within the store, her signature dresses, blazers and jumpsuits line the racks which cover the perimeter of her boutique, each of which are color coordinated and paired with the different materials she utilizes. She frequently makes gorgeous designs with silk satin-faced organza, which is notoriously difficult to work with, to create beautifully tiered ball gowns and jumpsuits. In honor of her Hamptons location, she has a rack of clothing entirely dedicated to her Gin Lane Collection. The collection fuses the luxurious flare of her elegant designs with the humble seersucker fabric that when combined together make beautiful blazers and dresses.

On the walls are large photographs of Jackie from her various adventures throughout her illustrious life. From gallivanting across Europe with royalty to movie stills from her role Fellini’s 1963 classic movie 8 ½ to her shots in a serpent hat designed by Bill Blass, Jackie Rogers can indulge you on all the details of the various escapades depicted in these photographs. Though the Hamptons season reaches its unofficial end on Labor Day, Jackie Rogers will continue to fit her elite clientele in her signature pieces.

Jackie Rogers’ couture collections have been dressing the world’s most powerful men & women for decades. She began her fashion design career working in menswear at the advisement of her mentor, Fashion Legend Coco Chanel, with her own boutique on Madison Avenue. The store became a men’s club, with movie star Jack Nicholson and Philanthropist Winthrop Rockefeller amongst her clientele. In the 1970s, she began designing womenswear and launched her boutique in Palm Beach, Florida on Worth Avenue.

Along with her Southampton and Palm Beach boutiques, her designs are available by appointment at her Manhattan showroom, online on her website and at fine retailers everywhere.
