Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation Honors Ann Liguori, Host & Golf Correspondent, WFAN & CBS Sports Radio at 37th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner to Benefit Cancer Research

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF)honored Ann Liguori, Host & Golf Correspondent for WFAN & CBS Sports Radio and Founder of the Ann Liguori Foundation and Ann Liguori Productions, at its 37th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner at the scenic Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY. Funds raised by the event supported SWCRF cancer research programs, including the SWCRF Partnership for Aging and Cancer Research, which studies the genetic, metabolic, and environmental factors that promote increased cancer incidence among people as they age. More than 100 golfers, supporters and special guests attended the tournament, auction and dinner, which raised more than $207,000 for groundbreaking cancer research.

Ann Liguori hosted her 21st Annual Ann Liguori Foundation Charity Golf Classic at Westhampton Country Club, benefitting cancer research, prevention and care. It was the event’s 21st straight sell-out.

This year’s honorees were Sportscasting Legend Lesley Visser, NFL Hall of Famer/Media division and long-time reporter for CBS Sports; Business Honoree Robert Bicocchi, Senior Property Manager, CBRE; and Music Honoree Steve Azar, hit singer-songwriter, musician and philanthropist.

Discloses Advances in Research and New Approaches to Cancer Treatment

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) announced groundbreaking summaries of its research advances from the past year at the 2019 SWCRF Breakthroughs Scientific Symposium at the Leon and Norma Hess Center for Science and Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. The event brought together more than 100 SWCRF grantees, scientific leaders and stakeholders to mark the conclusion of the annual two-day SWCRF Scientific Review, an evaluation of SWCRF funded research programs.
